This vlog is the second piece in Tp’s Defend Your Faith series. These posts are open letters, comments, etc… from someone who is not a Christian who would like to share his or her thoughts.
Instead of writing my thoughts out, I decided to just say them in a video. I’m just sharing how I perceive Christians and asking a few questions. Remember, I do not mean all Christians are like this. And I know that Christians are all at different maturity levels.
I am aware some Christians show love and genuine care like Kym, my grandmother, or my best friend Bao and many others. I just think Christians are a representation of God on earth, and they should reflect that.
Responses are welcomed. And yes, I know the video is not perfect.
Have a good one T-Phixians,
Ruben

Thank You for your honesty. As a Christian myself, I agree with you. I am so happy to have found like minded women on this site. But I am equally happy to hear your view on Christians as well. Your input may very well help the Christian community. You know..it sounds to me that you get the point better than many Christians do. You compared Christians only to Jesus. All He asks…is for us to follow Him and to Love God and Love others. He just wants an intimate relationship with us and then the Love that we recieve and healing , mercy, kindness and all the good that He gives to us so freely just flows out of us onto others. Each relationship is unique and may not look like the others, but one thing for sure, is Love. Seeing that you are inquiring and observing, says to me that you DO have a relationship with HIm as well. It may not look like the others, but it is yours and your journey. Keep doing what you are doing and call it what you want, or actually don't label it, because that may limit it.
Bless You and Everyone at Trinty Phix, Kelly

We are glad you are here at Trinity Phix. And, yes, my point is to help. I think Christians, as a whole, could do more if they took to heart what Jesus talked about.

Ok..this comment is for The Evenly Yoked; article.
First off, Your writing style is awesome. I just Love when people write how they talk, it keeps it real.
I giggled the whole way through the first part of your article because I could totally see your point of view and I get it because I wasn't always a Christian, so I was right there with you and also feeling the humor mixed with your reality. Then you brought tears to my eyes as you spoke about the Love you have for your wife and how careful you were with my heart as a Christian. I could feel your spirit coming through your writing. What a great gift He has given to you! Press on! I will be interested in reading the book you have coming out.
"For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband" 1 Corinthians 7:14 See…He Loves you so much that He not only made His way into your life through your beautiful wife, but He also made sure you are covered. So… no lake of fire for you my friend, but I must say, nothings beats the real deal relationship. I hope He reveals His presence to you like He has to me.
As a new Christian about 4 yrs. ago, I was struggling with really wanting to feel genuine Love for my mother. Yes, I loved her because she was my mom, but you know what I mean. I just cringed inside everytime she wanted a hug or said something nice to me because of all the stuff I went through as a kid. So I asked God, "please help me to Love my mom and to forgive her, I try and I just can't do it, I need your help." That week, at her house (the dreaded visit), there was this weird exchange of words. It was like she was asking for forgiveness but it wouldn't have sounded that way to any other ear. I still can't articulate it into words. Anyhow, my responce was that same weird language, and I gave her forgiveness.
The rest of the day was not like any other at her house. We had an amazing visit filled with luaghter and a joy I cannot explain. I was hugging and loving her and it felt so good. At the end of the evening we were sitting around the fire and my son brought over a bug, so we got on the subject of bugs. I said that my favorit bug is the Cadidid but I haven't seen one in years. My mom said it was hers too and she hadn't seen one in forever either. Anyhow, the next morning at home, I went to get into my car, but I stopped and looked up and said to Him "was that it?" "did you do that?" I got in the car and on the dashboard was… a Cadidid. I jumped up and down in the street yelling up at Him "Woohoo, you are real!!" and that is when my journey truely began, a relationship that is so amazing. I talk to Him and He talks to me. I can feel Him.I see Him in everything He created and in everyone. He is so awesome!! He is not who we can make Him out to be, He is the coolest person I know. I really hope you get to KNOW Him too. Just ask Him to help you see HIM, He is already there. If you ask Jesus to come into your heart and TRUELY anticipate meeting Him, He will reveal himslef to you and if you seek Him for all things He will give them to you. It's not about, to "Christian" or not to "Christian?" Do you want to know Him? If yes..then seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened.
Love to Ya, Kelly

First off, Hi Kelly, and second of all, I’m glad you enjoyed my little post.
I know that you just gave me a snippet of what God has done for you and your mother’s relationship. It is important to have a true, honest and beyond the surface kind-of-relationship. I truly value that. As you wrote about your experience, I thought about the end of A.I. (Spielberg’s film) where the child robot had the most perfect day with his mother. So much was said, but the language that really connected the two was their love.
So I am happy to read that you were able to forgive your mother. And I am happy to read that God “signed” His work for you.
Honestly, I am a little jealous of people who can see God in things.
The truth is, when it comes to the subject of me & God, let me see, I am surrounded by Christians: my lovely wife, her family, my best friend. I admire Shyamalan (who seems to be a spiritual and misunderstood filmmaker). It seems as if God is all around me. I just have 2 issues:
I’m a possibilist; I see all religions as possible or none at all. I’m just a big “?” mark.
The second issue is I don’t see Him as a being that I should praise or give my life over to. He could poke his head out of the sky, and I would challenge him because there are things that I need to understand.
I’m saying this so that you can pray to him about my specific problem. And as I tell my wife, I hope it helps. Having a relationship with God seems like a beautiful experience.
Which brings me to your reference to Corinthians 7:14. When you take the Bible as a whole, it seems to me that I’m not saved from the Lake of Fire, even though God sanctifies our marriage. I will receive certain things or blessings because my wife is a Christian, but I must make the choice to accept him for myself, from my own heart. And Kym is supposed to be an example, as I think the Bible says her actions can witness to me and may win me over. I guess Kym or Lauren can help you understand this further.
Ahhh, the book, the book. Yes, I actually have it completed; it’s in the editing process. This is a horror story, mild in my perspective, nevertheless, horror…fair warning, is all.
Thank you for responding, and thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts.
