Music encourages me. Music heals me. Music is an integral part of me and you. It is sound that travels throughout the body and has been arranged by many people for thousands of years.
Most music you come across expresses art, culture, or makes a statement. It is also used to praise false gods or serenade loved ones. Christians sing regularly to the one true God.
Music can be an instrument of spirit, soul, and physical healing. Everyone does not use it for these purposes, but you should incorporate more music into your life.
Behind the Music
All living organisms have a ‘beat.’ When you have certain physical, emotional, or energetic imbalances, you become off-beat. Music can help because each musical note has a healing effect on certain systems of the body.
If you consistently listen to certain songs or notes, it can assist in bringing harmony back to your body. When all the notes that make up who you are, are in tune, your body emits a sweet sounding symphony.
Most people who utilize this method call this music therapy.
Music therapy is found in the Bible. We see this in 1 Samuel 16:23. Whenever King Saul was troubled by an evil spirit, David played his harp. The evil spirit departed, and King Saul’s soul was refreshed. Paul and Silas were in distress in prison, and their response was to sing (Acts 16:25).
Thousands of years ago, Egyptians played music to help ease the pain of child birth; you can see a study on this here. Hippocrates used music to heal ailments as well.

So What Type of Music Do You Need?
Relaxing music, such as classical music, jazz music, or sounds of nature are recommended. This encourages your heart to slowdown, which will put you in a more relaxed state. This will help you fight off heart disease, digestion, and other stress-related ailments. You can choose a song or nature sound that connects to one of your magnetic centers.
While that music is beneficial, upbeat music could be healing. When you listen to this, it may stimulate you — mentally and physically. For one, you may unknowingly start to exercise. And depending on your situation and song, the music can uplift you by offering confidence, cognitive nimbleness, encouragement, or reflection.
I’ve realized that a lot of music can affect my being, which can bring balance to designated areas of the body as it is intrinsically connected. But singing a sacred song unto God brings healing–no matter what issue I’m dealing with; it’s all-encompassing. I don’t need to sing a certain song.
Shalom,
